POSITION DESCRIPTION
Our ideal candidate is collaborative, has excellent writing/communication and organizational skills, and is a self-starter. The Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing / Business Development in compiling and producing marketing materials using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other similar programs. This will involve working with the Director of MBD and the Administrative Manager to understand DS Architecture graphic standards, processes, and marketing library. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn about marketing strategies, market research, and brand implementation through training and hands-on experience.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Director of Marketing / Business Development Support: Assisting the Director of MBD with the RFQ search process, RFQ related research, and other administrative tasks related to marketing.

SOQ Development: Analyze and create the necessary documentation for SOQs. This will involve collaboration with both the Head of Marketing Business Development and the Studio Director for the project in question. Documentation may include renderings and schematic project plans or elevations, written project or vision statements, the proposed project team, and other more technical documentation such as proposed budget. The compilation of these documents will require the use of programs such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

Copy / Collateral: Compile and efficiently store each project’s most impactful representation in the file system. This could include perspective renderings, rendered plans and sections, and any other documentation the project team think best represents the project. It will be necessary to have this information and documentation readily available for applications to awards, presentations, and press releases.

Digital Library: Maintain the integrity of the established file structure and folder hierarchy by ensuring all files are stored in accordance with approved naming conventions and organizational standards. It includes preserving version control, preventing unauthorized structural changes, and consistently storing, retrieving, and managing documents within the designated file system. The position requires adherence to established naming conventions and metadata requirements, ensuring documents are saved in the correct folders at the time of creation, and avoiding the creation of unauthorized subfolders or alternative storage locations.

Social Media/Website/Blog:  Discuss and implement a plan for posting on the DS Architecture blog, editing the DS Architecture website, and posting to various social media platforms. Blogs may be weekly and are meant to draw interest to the project the team is designing and current issues in the field of architecture. This blog is geared towards future talent and should target the interests of current and future architects and interior designers. The website should be updated regularly, particularly the Team page, to account for the comings and goings of team members. This will require the use of WordPress and InDesign.

Media Relations/Press Relations: Communicate with any press that may reach out to the company for an article or quote. This could include the writing of different passages about different projects, compiling useful imagery of the project in question such as renderings, and collaborating with the project manager and/or studio director who had managed the project to get accurate information and statements on the project to send to the press.

RFQ Hunt: Using different online platforms to find RFQs that may be valuable to the team is vital for being aware of the opportunities we may have that the team’s connections aren’t aware of. Tasks involve subscribing to various online platforms, taking a weekly overview of the project available to apply for, and organizing applicable RFQs for the Head of MBD to review before moving onto determining if the projects found should be applied to.
