Phil Baxter

Phil is an emerging designer and a graduate of Prairie View A&M University in Texas. He served 16 years in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Infantryman and is a Bronze Star recipient. As a Disabled Combat Veteran, Phil founded the Military Members Group Services, a nonprofit in Pennsylvania dedicated to providing physical and mental health programs for disabled veterans and their families. He is deeply involved in his community, serving on the board of the Greater Scott's Addition Association in Richmond, Virginia. Phil is also active in VANOMA, AIA Richmond, and YAFRVA. His passion lies in enhancing the human experience and promoting mental health through community engagement and thoughtful design.

WHERE DO YOU MOST HOPE TO VISIT?
The future. I enjoy the journey and the choices I make now seeing them birthed in delayed gratification.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOBBY OR PAST TIME?
Spending time with family, friends, and my veteran brothers and sisters.
WHAT SUPER POWER WOULD YOU HAVE?
I would have all of Goku’s powers.
IF YOU WERE AN ANIMAL, WHAT WOULD YOU BE AND WHY?
Great White, because they go places in the earth most humans can never go and there has never been video footage of one being born.
WHAT’S YOUR HIDDEN TALENT?
Helping people enjoy the moment.
WHAT’S THE BEST HALLOWEEN COSTUME YOU’VE EVER HAD?
I was Superman with a giant afro. It was simple but got a lot of conversations started.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY WHILE WORKING AT DS ARCHITECTURE?
My first staff meeting, the support and affirmation everyone gives each other. The DS Architecture family really care about each other, it made Jeff shed a tear on Teams.
